$55 Challenge to Clothe Family of Three

The rising cost of living as utility prices soar and an increasing awareness of the importance of making sustainable lifestyle choices are two factors increasing interest in buying second hand clothing. 

Op shop enthusiast and Bindaring Ambassador Julie Leslie, known on Instagram as @mythriftshift has long been a convert to the benefits of second hand clothing. “It offers an opportunity to find quality clothing for all the family at very low prices and extends the life of each item reducing our carbon imprint.”

To mark the Bindaring Clothing Sale’s 55th birthday – we set Julie a challenging but very affordable budget of $55 to clothe her family of three from the Bindaring Sale’s Op Shop stock.  Selecting outfits for herself, her husband Paul and their 5 year old son Boyd, Julie demonstrated that second hand is the smart way to shop.
